You know what I hate. When people decide to put you into these nice little boxes. You're a jock so you can't be an artist, or you're a musician so you can't be an athlete. How is that fair? Why do we have to be one of the other and not both!
I like fashion and art and I am also a jock. Someone told me the other day that they can't see me as being a photographer because I am the number one tennis player. That really ticked me off because I don't want people to just perceive me as that one thing. People change, something that I have definitely done since being in London. So don't go telling me that you can't see me as how I want to be seen because I am good at tennis. That shouldn't mean anything.
For any of you who have had a similar dilemma I have attached the new Vampire Weekend video for one of their new songs, Giving Up The Gun. Just watch it, it makes me feel better and I hope it will do the same for you.
See you can be a little hipster and a tennis player. Thank you Vampire Weekend for understanding me better than my friends.

Stop Motion
For those of you who liked the last stop motion video I posted, I thought I would treat you with another one I found while browsing the internet. Yes, I know I am a dork I browse the internet looking for cool things, but trust me after seeing this you will be thankful.
Also happy anniversary Miracle on Ice Day! Sorry just had to throw that in there as I write this while watching the USA vs. Canada hockey game.

2010 Olympics
Lately I have been watching the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver, which is probably why my homework isn't getting done.
However, I am not here to talk to you about my poor work ethic instead I want to talk about the winter Olympic sports. What I have noticed at these Olympics is that half of these sports I have never heard of, or have never really given much thought to. Biathlon, curling? And yet here these sports are being broadcasted for the world to see. And what's really interesting is that the people who participate in these sports are ordinary people. Yes, they are Olympians but what I mean by ordinary is that if you were to be walking down the street most of you wouldn't recognize them.
So I have been thinking about this a lot lately and have decided that I want to be an Olympian. I think that if I were to switch over to some bizarre sport that no one really knows of I could actually have a chance. Of course I am just messing with you all, but in reality I have a lot of respect for these people and really would love to have been an Olympian. However, if I could pick a sport to participate in for the winter Olympics it would probably have to be boardercross. First of all snowboarding is awesome, and second of all you are racing against other people, which means that it is a clear win. You don't have to worry about subjective judging.
On a plus note I could totally see myself as a boarder chick.

The Appeal of Chatroulette
Now I am a huge digital enthusiast, I love twitter, flickr, facebook and youtube, but I am not exactly sure about how I feel about chatroulette.
To me it just seems like a modern day chat room. Remember those things they had through AOL, where you could meet random people and type to them and most of the time they would end up being creepy forty year old married men. Now with chatroulette you are not only typing to them but seeing them and in all the wrong contexts.
So I guess what I don't understand is where is the appeal? Why would you sit in front of your computer screen and put yourself in those types of situations?
The one plus that I can see is the chance of running into someone famous. But then again how can you tell if that's really them?
Although it may sound like I am judging I am really not. I just want to know why people like it? I used to think twitter was stupid and now look at me, I tweet about three times a day. So please leave comments and let me know why you do or do not like chatroulette. I am open to anything, so who knows maybe one day I will try it out.

College Student
Despite what people tell you, being a college student is not as exciting as it sounds. Forget the movies, we aren't as cool and hip as they make us out to be. Instead we are quite ordinary and spend most of our time doing homework and my major guilty pleasure watching youtube videos. I swear youtube must have been invented for college students. When we don't want to do work and are looking for means of procrastinating we are either spending our time on facebook, catching up on tv shows through Hulu or finding bizarre/funny/talented viral videos on youtube.
The other day my roommate was showing me this really cool stop motion video. Stop motion is a video made out of photographs that are staggered perfectly so it appears that the person is moving, when really all that has been done is that someone has taken a photograph moved about an inch and then taken another one, so on and so forth. Pretty much your modern day flip book.
This is the video my roommate showed me, can you believe how much time and effort must have gone into making this video. It is pretty unreal and unbelievable. My roommate and her boyfriend actually want to make their own stop motion video and if they ever do, you will be the first to know about it. Who knows maybe I can actually convince them to let me help out, possibly pick out a kick ass background song.

Doppleganger Week
So I know doppleganger week is over, but I was reading someone's blog the other day about it and something they said really interested me. The writer mentioned that we are all ordinary so there is no point trying to tell ourselves we all look like these people. Think about it, if we all look like these famous people well then technically you are really ordinary. But, we thankfully don't. I know we are kind of bummed that we don't look like Jennifer Aniston or Megan Fox, but what we have is something better than that, we are ordinarily special. If we all looked like them then we wouldn't be individuals. Looking different then a famous person isn't a curse, but a good thing. Plus if we looked like them then they wouldn't be special either.
I know we all want to look like celebrities at one point in our lives, they are beautiful and talented, I want to look like Twiggy. But if I really did look like Twiggy then I wouldn't be me. I am an ordinary person but that's what makes me special and well me.
So embrace your inner ordinary and when the next doppleganger week comes along say screw it and keep your profile picture the way it is.
*Oh and I added a picture of Twiggy just because well she is amazing, so enjoy :).

Super Bowl 44
What a great win for the Saints! I was rooting for them the entire time, mostly because Peyton Manning and the Colts beat the Jets, but also because it's a great win for the city and the team. First times the charm right?
But what I really want to talk about are the advertisements. Was anyone else a little bit disappointed with them? I mean Doritos and Bud Light, seriously? A man with a Dorito's ninja costume? And all of Bud Light's commercials in general were just trying too hard to be funny and well they failed, big time.
Personally, my favorites were of course the e*trade babies, and the the Brett Favre one was quite funny, I mean I am a Jets fan and the man was making fun of himself. However, probably the best one was the add with Tracy Morgan and Stevie Wonder for VolksWagon.
Don't you remember the game "Punch Buggy No Punch Back"? Well now it's "VolksWagon no Punch Back". Got to love it!
First off the song is great! Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks, what a brilliant song to put in a commercial! And then the add just ends with a bang having Tracy Morgan get punched by Stevie Wonder. Very clever.
